Meet Cyo Ray Nystrom, the CEO and co-founder of Quim, a self-care line for “humans with vaginas and humans without vaginas who love vaginas”.
After over a decade of enduring recurrent vaginal health issues, she left her role as the Head of Sales at Meadow and partnered with Rachel Washtien, to launch a plant-based intimate wellness company aimed towards empowering women to take charge of their vaginal health in sustainable ways.
Quim makes THC and CBD infused products using all-natural ingredients that proactively support vaginal health and wellness, created with your daily self-care rituals in mind.
Quim is based in San Francisco and aims to de-stigmatize conversations regarding vaginal health and sexual wellness, and see a happier yonic future for all. Since launching their first product, Intimate Oil, in April of 2017, they’ve expanded distribution throughout all of California, launched two new products, secured a temporary license to manufacturer cannabis products, closed over $250k in seed funding, and have garnered the attention of national media outlets such as Viceland TV, The Atlantic, and Conde Nast’s new LGBTQA publication, them

[Q.] Thanks for speaking with us Cyo! Can you tell us a bit about your personal journey into the cannabis industry?
[A.] I started making my own vaginal health products when I was 23 years old after spending the past 8 years in a UTI-> yeast infection -> UTI cycle.
A few years later, we experimented with infusing these products with cannabis and saw amazing results. I had been working as the Head of Sales at Meadow and based on feedback from our initial testers, we knew we had developed a product with not only sexual benefits but vaginal health benefits as well!
[Q.] Quim is a “self-care line for humans with vaginas and humans without vaginas, who love vaginas”. Can you tell us more about what this motto means to you and what Quim’s products aim to do for those who use them?
[A.] To us, this motto says we understand that its 2020 and gender identity has very little, if anything, to do with anatomy. We make vaginal health products for humans, not specifically for women or men.
We’ve also seen how our products have made positive impacts on people without vaginas— either because they’re using them anally or because they’re enhancing sexual encounters with their partner who has a vagina.
[Q.] What does having a “vag-forward mentality” mean? How do your products support this notion?
[A.] All of Quim’s products are created with a vag-forward mentality. The vagina is one of the most absorbent parts of the body, and an important gateway to our holistic well-being.
Yet, very little attention is paid to proactive vaginal health. Whether you’re looking for natural solutions to treat common vaginal health issues, spice up your sex life, and/or believe in cannabis for medicinal purposes, we’ve got your quim covered, #cliterally.
[Q.] Can you tell us about each of your products?
